Derren Brown is a really outstanding British Mind Reader who claims he is not a Psychic but has wowed British TV with a stunning series of shows in which he made amazing predictions including a winner in a series of horse races.

Derren says his techniques are a mixture of psychology,magic, suggestion, misdirection and showmanship.

I watched the show and to use a press headline - it was Mind Blowing !
Saturnine Derren will soon scratch the surface of some Religious beliefs in the USA and that programme too is almost bound to raise howls of protest.
His Mind Control techniques involve in fact a mixture of cunningly sited trigger phrases,images and words which his subjects are sure to see followed with leaked documents or signs that do pretty much the same thing in that they make peoples buttons easier to press.
Basically Derren leads people gently up a pre-arranged path to his desired conclusion. This makes for great tv entertainment and relies heavily on the subjects own desires and fears.
The Manipulation of these fears and desires together with the visual sitmuli that
trigger off those fears produce a fairly predictible outcome.

have arranged several endings and outcomes for each subject.
I am a great Fan of Derren Brown and an admirer of his work .
He has moved mentalism one rung up the ladder of belief beyond the fortune tellers and card guessers to a higher plane of conciousness.
Do buy his books and dvds - they are really an eye opener to a different and pliable reality.
